A montage of compositions

Jewish music has been influenced by and has indeed also been a profound influence in many cultures – through sacred and secular traditions.
Courses take us through musical influences from Middle East, Europe and the Near East, Christian and Islamic cultures. Jewish music stems from ancient prayer chants of the Levant some 3000 years ago. and yet it is still in current practice all over the world today.
These courses reveal a montage of Jewish culture interwoven in music.  The meanings, roles, complexities of compositions and their related historical and cultural foundations are studied in depth.
Jewish Music from Israeli, Yiddish, Ladino, Hebrew, Yemenite, Sephardic, Ashkenazic, Palestinian, Middle Eastern
Liturgical are studied in depth.
Of course modern Jewish composers take also a central place and we meet among the many course offerings the vivacity and vibe of modern Broadway composers and lyricists such as composer Richard Rodgers and lyricist Oscar Hammerstein, Irving Berlin who wrote White Christmas and Easter Parade, George and Ira Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess, Jerry Bock and Sheldon Harnick’s
Fiddler on the Roof and many more!

Double track options

Many of our students belong to educational institutions dedicated to studying these courses available.
There are opportunities to join as a worldwide learner into courses that have the “double track” options- i.e, that welcome independent learners into their established classes.
Students will also be able to find courses that follow a modular progression for credit with individual universities and other teaching institutions.
We are also excited to bring our learners courses from talented young musicians. These courses can also be found in the Contemporary Artists category.
